The Pleasures of Vino & Tapas in San Miguel de Allende

red wine on the table

There are a lot of simple pleasures in life, one of them is good wine, with good food enjoyed by friends. There is a place in Centro San Miguel now that offers the perfect combination in a simple, comfortable yet chic environment, welcome to Vinos+Tapas.

As the name suggests, they serve great wines, from what I saw mostly tasty Mexican wines with Tapas, small plates of great food, a centuries old gastronomy concept from imported from Spain and now popular around the world. Welcome to San Miguel de Allende.

With all the great food and wine now in San Miguel this place offers something different, something fun and unique…and very good I might add. There are about 20 tapas of that can be a tasty treat for one or two people a few others for three or four. And about a dozen almost entrée size tapas, that round out this clever and tasty menu. Don’t miss the duck raviolis, nice size plate of delicious raviolis with an amazing rich sauce covering the generous portion.

Stefania Chavez, the chef/owner of Vinos+Tapas seems to be having a great time running her own show and it is reflected in the food and the service which is attentive. Stefania is young, charming and enthusiastic chef/owner who makes you feel comfortable and welcome as soon as she says hello, many times bringing out your tapas herself.

They offer a very nice selection of mostly Mexican wines a must for a place with wine in the name.

The restaurant is modern, clean, air-conditioned and has a wonderful roof top terrace as well, with great views. There is live guitar music on Friday nights, and don’t miss some of the special like Thursday nights mussels.

Vinos+Tapas is located at Insurgentes #63. The restaurant is open from Tuesday to Thursday, 1:00 pm to 10:00 pm; Friday and Saturday, 1:00 pm to Midnight; Sunday, 10:00 pm to 7:00 pm. 415 152 2563.
